ARC: You're Kitten Me (Tiger Tails 2) by Celia Kyle

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 stars

Celia Kyle has once again hit it on the head. I got exactly what I expected out of this book: cuteness, hilarity, drama and a HEA worth smiling over. It love how Zoe and Ronnie are together, it reminds me of my favorite girlfriends. "Death by Chocolate", I laughed so hard I cried. I can't wait to see Cadman get his comeuppance.

ARC Review: So I Married A Rockstar by Marina Maddix

ARC Review

5 Stars

The best part of a Marina Maddix book is the comedic value. I love that she can make me laugh. The MCs seems to stumble from one disaster to another, non stop crisis without making it seemed overblown or too far out there. I am kinda hoping to read more in the future regarding the rest of the band. I love that they bring out the "hidden" sides of each others personalities. It makes what they share special and heartwarming as well as cute and funny.

ARC: Protecting a Mate (Quick and Furry 7) by Celia Kyle and Mina Carter

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 Stars

I love how worried Foster is about squishing Melanie, how adorable. Thank goodness Harvey got his just desserts, he was just too stupid to live. Poor Archer just can't win when it comes to these Baxter girls. I can't wait until Max gets his own mate, she is gonna be smacking him upside the head almost constantly :) Loving this series, can't wait until the next one.

ARC: Stepbrother UnSEALed by Nicole Snow

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4 Stars

This story was everything I expected of a Nicole Snow story: gritty, edgy, drama and a good girl taming the bad boy who steals her heart. I love that everyone who deserved it got their HEA and that the damage done by the psychotic one didn't last forever.
There was a lot of ups and downs. The military aspect was believable without getting overly technical and/or gory. However, the stepmom was a little too far over the line psycho. I was disappointed in the father for being sucked into her crazy sphere. I loved the crazy that her best friend brought even though I felt she took too much advantage of the heroine. That's besties for you tho.
Overall, a great read. Emotionally, I was all over the place and the ending brought a feeling of "that's been done right".

ARC: Step Beast by Selena Kitt

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 Stars

I think this has become my favorite Selena Kitt book to date. This story was longer than most and very emotionally charged. I was constantly surprised by the twists and turns the plot took and there were so many home truths that the story really resonates.
I loved that while there was a happy ending, it wasn't all sunshine and roses. There is a lot of healing left to do for the characters and the ending of the story reflected that grief and loss aren't healed overnight. I was kind of hoping that her friend Frankie, would get her own story, if only so we can peek back into their lives and see how well things are going.
It never fails to amazing me the things we pass on to our children without meaning to and how one person's decisions can affect so many lives. It is a painful truth that sometimes a parents love can damage more deeply than neglect.

Cool for the Summer Symposium w/ Laurie Roma

First of all, thanks for having me! I'm here to talk about my favorite genre: paranormal romance. This includes (at least for me) everything from aliens to shifters to vamps to fae. It's a crazy world(s) out there to explore and there is always room for more. What I love best about paranormal is that you can mostly make your own rules. As long as the backstory is good and the mythology isn't too overly complicated or obscure, you're good to go.
Now, I love to read a variety of things so while paranormal romance is my go-to, I also love contemporary romance. Lately, there has been a well spring of step romance and I've been happy to read and read and read. I know that this isn't everyone's cup of tea and the idea of "relatives" (although they aren't legally related) freaks people out. What I love best about these stories is that the MCs find love in unconventional places. I think that love shouldn't be limited to what others out there think is right/wrong. If it feels right to you and no one else is getting hurt, follow your heart. It is your life to live, not theirs.
With that, I can be found writing reviews of many books in the genres I just talked about on my blog, Discussions With Demons.

ARC: Erun (The Ujal 4) by Erin Tate

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 Stars

I like that his past affects his outlook on life. It is unrealistic that events similar to his past wouldn't be a trigger for him. I love the way she stood up to her ex. I'm hoping Shon gets his own story as well as Sece/Niox.
This is the first book I have read from this series but definitely not the last. I'm glad I was able to read it as a standalone without any trouble.

ARC: The Sheikh's American Bride (The Sharqi Sheikhs 2) by Leslie North

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4 Stars

I felt bad for Zoe and hope she finds someone, Daniel isn't good enough for her. Taleb is cute in his cluelessness but Claire seemed less affected by her actions than I liked. I love that her friends were supportive but sad that Zoe was shunned. You can't help who you fall in love with. People are judgmental and that's just human nature.

ARC: Southern Shifters: Impawsible (Buchanan Clan 1) by Celia Kyle

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 Stars

I love the prey/predator mate combination. I also love that her family came and supported her even if her dad is old-fashioned and crusty. Glad her mate isn't getting any trouble for the jerk. That guy got what he deserved. Overall, a quick, enjoyable read.

ARC: Hare Today, Bear Tomorrow (Mating Call Dating Agency 1) by Lynn Red

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 Stars

I love the MCs, most of the time shifters are confident, almost to the point of arrogance. It's nice to see those who are less confident, more human. Love that their friends helped out, even though they thought they were loners. They have touched many lives and have really caring friends. I can't wait to see what's next.

ARC: Hunting A Mate (Quick & Furry 6) by Mina Carter and Celia Kyle

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

4 Stars

While it's hard to beat being cute and adorable, every woman wants to feel sexy, especially when they meet their mate. I love how Archer goes from not wanting a mate to tearing off after her and clocking his brother over her. I felt so bad for Chloe and Paige, their moms are crazy! I was disappointed in Paige's mom, she was just mean.
I am hoping to see more of these characters, possibly in a story where Melanie is paired with one (or both) of the other brothers.

ARC: Wanting A Mate (Quick & Furry 5) by Celia Kyle and Mina Carter

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

Bad ass + Crazy Girl = One Awesome Story

5 Stars

One of the things I love best about the books in this series are that they are great for on the go, quick pick me ups. They are super funny and Chloe's family just has me laughing out loud with their antics. I love that even the big bad kitty cat is tamed/respectful of his mother *snicker*.

ARC: Roaring for Him (Wicked in Wilder 1) by Celia Kyle

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 Stars

Go, mama lioness! I love the two sides of the heroine, the shy human and her counter the badass lioness. She is fiercely protective of her friends and family, who just crack me up when they get together. Phoebe is a hoot! I even like that there were a couple of loose threads to tug on for future stories in the series. I am definitely looking forward to more in this series. Celia Kyle does a wonderful job of setting up secondary characters that suck you into the worlds she creates and this time is no different.

ARC: An Omega's Heart (The Under Wolves) by Amber Kell

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
I love the Conley rescued his family. I'm a fan of the best things come in small packages. For such a little guy he had a big attitude.

What did I not like?
I'm sorry Conley had to be the one to deal with his father. Even if they deserve it, it's a hard choice to make.

Recommendation: I was left with some questions on where this series is going. Will his mom get another mate? What about Tesen?

ARC: Stepbrother Charming by Nicole Snow

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 Stars

This one there was a lot of emotional back and forth. Sometimes you felt bad for him and others times you were like, "what a jerk!". I also had times when I felt the heroine was a prig and others when the attitude felt justified. Their initial meetings really set the tone for the book. I love that his dad got his comeuppance (what a douche) and her mom refocused on what was important. I felt that Dan should have been punished more (little twerp deserved to be strung up by his balls).

Recommendation: It took a while but they got their HEA.

Trusting Chance (Fate Harbor 1) by Caitlyn O'Leary

Received a copy of this book in a giveaway.

5 out of 5 Stars
Love how they fit together. Story progression was easy to follow and believe. Love the realism, not everyone will support you but as long as your family and friends do, that's all that matters. I like that they were open about their relationship.

Recommendation: Adorable read

The Cattle Drive (The Armstrong Brothers of Cedar Creek 1) by Rebecca Joyce

Received a copy of this book in a giveaway.

4 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
The father loves his kids, despite the fact that he doesn't show it. The heroine has an amazing inner strength to keep going after the accident. Glad they ended up having kids, hoping they have more.

What did I not like?
The bad guy didn't come as much of a surprise.

Recommendation: Looking forward to more in this series. Hoping to see them again in the other books.

Be Bad, for Goodness Sake by Tara Lain

Received a copy of this book in a giveaway.

4 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
Glad she didn't lose too much of her confidence because of that rat. I love how the hero takes care of her.

What did I not like?
Helena needs a swift kick, but she's young and sheltered. I'm hoping Ollie gets his comeuppance.

Recommendation: Fun, quick holiday read.

Taken by Her Alien Warriors (The Warriors 1) by Doris O'Connor

Received a copy of this book in a giveaway.

4 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
I love the heroine's spunk and attitude in the trial chamber. I also like that they all work on their individual relationships as well as the whole group's relationship. I'm also glad she got a mom figure, Gerunda, back in her life.

What did I not like?
I find it hard to believe that the council would believe a charge against one of their own when the source is the enemy unless they were just using it as an excuse to be rid of their own men.

Recommendation: Fun read, no cliffhanger, looking forward to more

ARC Review: Pet to the Tentacle Monsters! by Lilia Ford

Received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

4 out of 5 Stars
This was a new one for me. Monster erotica is fun and can be sexy if done right. This one was fun but could be a little awkward with the pseudo-incest (adopted brothers are intimate). It was hard to pick a favorite character. Silver grew over the course of their interaction. Black was a great father and Kitty is just well, a beautiful soul. Benji and Silver's relationship is still evolving so while everyone gets their HEA, there is still room for growth and imagination to take over. I think my favorite part about this story is that he gets a family back. They help heal some of his pain.

Recommendation: If you like monster erotica and BDSM and the possibility of pseudo-incest doesn't bother you, this is a fun read. It was easy to get into and stay sucked into the story.

Sleeping Beau (Mischievous Fairy Tales 5) by Honor James

I won a copy of this book in a giveaway.

4 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
I like that she didn't have to choose between the two, they were able to work out a way that worked for them. The lack of jealousy and the way she made time for both of them was good.

What did I not like?
His mother needs an attitude adjustment. There was a bit of repetition with the dialog.

Recommendation: I enjoyed this read. I might have to go back and check out the others in the series. It was an interesting twist on the fairy tale.

My Review:
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Overall: Fun stories. Some I liked more than others but overall good reads.
*4 Stars*

An Unexpected Diversion - Vella Day
*3 Stars*
I liked that he used his brains to win the challenge. 'Brains over brawn' isn't a normal shifter maxim.
I wasn't a fan of the humans being superior to shifters theory. I didn't feel like the story should have ended without some resolution about Storm taking over the pack. I also didn't agree with how Chuck was handled. I would have expected that attempting to assault the pack Alpha's daughter would have more severe punishment than banishment. I wasn't a fan of Leo's at all, from the way he treated his daughter and her assailant to the way he was condescending to Storm, overall a douche.

Waking the Bear by Kerry Adrienne
*4 Stars*
I disliked the lack of resolution. I wasn't a fan of the heroine. She doesn't seem to have the sense God gave a goose, I really wanted to smack her. Also she did a 180 after hearing he was the bear.

Prime Desire by Andie Devaux
*5 Stars*
When I read Broken Prime, my first thought was 'I hope she does a sequel!'. Here it is *happy dance* The prologue does catch up so even if you didn't read Broken Prime, you were still able to read this one without feeling like you walked into the story halfway. I'm glad that Nicolas's life turned around. I was cheering for him and Erin to get their HEA. I loved seeing his brother and sister-in-law too. Thank goodness for her advice on women or Nicolas would be doomed, doomed I tell you! *snicker*

Bear Essentials by Lia Davis
*5 Stars*
I love the heroine, she was sassy and I loved watching her get her confidence back, 'Go get 'em, girl!'. I really like that she took the time to think and talk it over before jumping in (even if the conversation was short). I like that the fight against April was kinda realistic (taking a bigger/stronger opponent down by hitting weak spots and head injuries). I loved that they appreciated her gentle heart and gift.

Match Made in Hell by Milly Taiden
*5 Stars*
I am hoping she makes this into a series because I love Davi! She is hilarious and ruthless. I liked the closure they got from seeing Kele/Katherine again.

ARC Review: Fever (Club Inferno 3) by Jamie K. Schmidt

Received an ARC of this book via NetGalley.

3 out of 5 Stars

Like: I liked that she fell in love with an older man and was still able to have her first love. I loved that she grew into who she was supposed to be.

Dislike: I spent most of the book disliking the hero and wishing she would ditch him until he grew up. I disliked his friends, I'm hoping they get what they deserve. I blame him for their behavior, If you can't stand up for your girl, you don't deserve her. Dante was way out of line too. It was a real jerk move that he pulled on Chase.

Recommendation: Both parties matured over the course of the book, redeeming themselves (mostly) by the end.

ARC: Outlaw's Obsession (Grizzlies MC 2) by Nicole Snow

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
I love Rabid. Although he is a hard-ass, let's face it all MC heroes are, he's got a sweet side and it shows. I love Rabid's follow through and way with words. Despite having to be hard to survive, Christa is a softie (emotionally) in the right circumstances. This doesn't make her any less of a bad-ass when she needs to be hard. I love that she can be bloodthirsty when it is called for an still be tenderhearted enough to hurt when her dad isn't lucid. I love the fact that her dad was lucid when Rabid visited, Christa at least has one more good memory. The person you are meant to be with is the one who brings out your best.

What did I not like?
Rabid needed to get his head out of his ass. Christa had some issues about flipping her stand. Some times she was ready to trust him but not really. It was a little frustrating.

Recommendation: I love this one.

Spotlight & ARC Review: The Mate Challenge Review Tour by Milly Taiden

Blurb:

Sassy Mates Book 4 ~ Emma and Mason

Emma Ferro wants nothing more than to accept Mason Wolfe’s offer to be his mate. He’s wild, sexy and can do things with his tongue that should be illegal. But Mason is also overwhelming her with his need to protect and keep her out of trouble. He needs to live and let live. It’s not like she’s killed anyone...yet. Until he learns she’s an independent woman, he’s going to stay waiting.

Mason Wolfe has a problem of the short, sassy and curvy kind. Every time he leaves Emma alone, he knows she’s going to get into trouble. It’s getting to the point he’s ready to slap a tracker on her butt just to keep his sanity. He’s busy holding down the pack, helping with fighting new rogues and a secondary threat that’s come to town.

When Emma goes searching for a missing girl, she finds a lot more going on in Blue Creek than even the biggest shifters are aware of. With the help of the least likely person, she’ll put herself on the line in order to save the ones she loves. Mason will have to find a way to help Emma or face losing her forever.

Reader Note: This book contains wild and growly sex (the hot and sweaty kind), adult language (dirty talk is our middle name), and violence. If this is not the kind of stuff you like to read, skip this book. However, if you like a domineering wolf on a mouthy curvy girl, then this is right up your alley. Enjoy!

My Review:
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 Stars

I like that she is her own person. Despite the fact that she is independent and strong, we see a more vulnerable side to her and watch her grow with the hero. I love my protective, alpha heroes but I also like watching them get their comeuppance.

Recommendation: We've been waiting a while for this last mating and it doesn't disappoint. I'm hoping for a spin off actually.

Excerpt:
The first time she’d met him, she’d been visiting Ellie’s house to work on a project together and bam! Mason opened the front door, took one look at her and hauled her inside. What came next was something she’d never forget. She’d gotten a single look at Mason with his spiky short hair and crazy number of arm tattoos, nipple piercings and forgot how to talk. Then there was the immediate first kiss. Any other guy to try that and she’d have decked him, but Mason caught her off guard. He told her she was his and proceeded to kiss her like she was the love of his life. Stupid shifter and his sexy tongue. He’d destroyed her thinking ability way back when. Still, Emma wasn’t going to let some shifter tell her what to do.

She didn’t care how sexy he was. She ignored his advances and proceeded to tell him she had a boyfriend, which she did at the time. Did he care? Not at all. He went on to tell her he’d wait because he knew in time she’d be his. Cocky asshole. Though Mason was an amazing man, he was a protector, which was sweet, but that led to him trying to tell her what to do. Her father had done that for too many years of her life and she was not going there again. Not with mutt.

ARC Review: My Stepbrother: The Dom by Arabella Quinn

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
Glad that he got himself out of the trouble he got in with the loan sharks. Cole showed a lot of growing up in the book. I'm glad that they are including Master Royce and April roles in their relationship. I'm also glad that she was able to reconcile with the family on her mom's side.

What did I not like?
I didn't like that her dad took his hatred of Cole's dad out on Cole and that he was such a jerk that he was willing to do illegal things to get Cole in trouble. I don't like her attitude on his last day of working at Sanctuary, like he said this wasn't a brothel and he wasn't a prostitute.

Recommendation: If you like step romance, this is a good read. There is family drama and morality issues to overcome. Enjoyable read.

5 Stars

I love the fact that Cole stood up with Lindsey and that they were able to reconcile with their packs after the fact. I love that Lindsey has his own pack/safe haven and we discover his family on his father's side. I am happy that both couples got their HEA.

Recommendation: I'm hoping for at least one more (if not more) stories in this series.

ARC Review: My Dragon Masters (Sanctuary, Texas 2) by Krystal Shannan

I received a copy of this book via The Book Machine in exchange for an honest review.

4 Stars

Like: I'm glad they were able to be reunited as a family. Lots of twists and surprises. I felt bad about what happened to the females but the Prince needs someone stronger for the future and the Diana is much stronger than how Eli and Miles remember her. I like strong, independent heroines.

Dislike: Eli and Miles need to get into this century and realize that Diana has grown and they need to keep up and deal with the present rather than get trapped in the past/memories. I feel bad for Mandana, I'm hoping she gets rescued and get to deal the death blow to her abuser.

Recommendation: Though I didn't read book 1, I didn't feel like it was required in order to enjoy this book.

I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

4 Stars

Well-written suspenseful read. I disliked most of the characters of the characters. There were many villains in this story. I was glad when they caught the killer and some of them got their punishment. I was hoping more of them would be punished for their part in this tragedy.

Recommendation: Tragic, emotional read.

ARC Review: Fury of Obsession (Dragonfury 5) by Coreene Callahan

Received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The plans of mice and men...

5 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
I couldn't wait to finish this book. I love that Venom tried to meet her halfway, rather than just kidnap her like all the others. Can't wait for the confrontation with Rodin, hope they kill the son and Rodin too. Speculating that some of the HE females that Ivar has stashed are mates to the other Nightfuries or perhaps Azrad and his crew.

What did I not like?
I'm starting to think that Ivar is redeemable.

Recommendation: Wondering who is going to be next.

Spotlight & ARC Review: Burning for Her Kiss (The Serpent's Kiss 1) by Sherri Hayes

Burning For Her Kiss (Serpent's Kiss, Book 1) by Sherri Hayes

Genre: BDSM Erotic Romance

Release Date: February 12, 2015

Book Summary

Beth Davenport has no interest in getting involved with
another man for the foreseeable future. To say her last relationship ended in
disaster would be a colossal understatement. The only reason she agrees to put
in an appearance at Serpent’s Kiss, a private kink club in downtown St. Louis, is
because her best friend, Nicole, won’t quit nagging her. When she walks in the
door that night, the last thing she expects to do is meet a man who will have
her reconsidering her ban on men.

As a captain with the St. Louis Fire Department, Drew Parker
is used to being in charge. His crew relies on him to make sure they know what
they’re doing and return home to their families after every shift. It isn’t, however,
what he wants in a relationship. Drew decides to join Serpent’s Kiss to see if
what appeals to him in fantasy is something he wants to explore in the real
world. He’s also hoping that he’ll be lucky enough to meet a woman with whom he
can explore his desires. The night Beth walks into the club, he is intrigued.
Drew has to get to know her better.

After what happened to her, Beth is reluctant to get
involved with Drew. It doesn’t matter that he is sweet and charming. She’s been
burned before and Beth doesn’t think she can survive having her heart crushed
again. Drew, however, won’t take no for an answer. He wants a relationship and
is determined to chip away at her defenses until she relents. Will she give him
a chance, or did her ex leave her with scars too deep to heal?

Excerpt

She
plunged her tongue inside his mouth and took what she wanted. It was the
hottest thing Drew could ever remember experiencing in his life.

The
kiss didn’t last more than a minute or two, but it was long enough for him to
know he wanted more.

Beth
rested her forehead against his. She was breathing just as hard as he was. Her
chest was heaving up and down, brushing against his chest. Not to mention that
she was still straddling his lap.

“Please
tell me you want to do that again.”

She
laughed. It was so nice to see her happy and carefree.

“Is
that a yes?”

“Don’t
get cocky on me now.” She ran a single finger down the side of his face and
over his lower lip.

He
closed his eyes, trying not to push.

“Open
your eyes,” she whispered.

When
he met her gaze, he noticed the amusement was gone. He was instantly on alert.
“What’s wrong?”

Beth
shook her head. “Nothing’s wrong. I’m just . . . considering my
options.”

“Options
about what?”

“You.”

“Oh.”
He wasn’t sure he liked the fact that thinking over her options had banished
the fun they’d be having.

Before
he could formulate another question, she explained. “Things between us are
moving faster than I thought they would.”

“Is
that bad?” He needed to know. In his opinion, things between them weren’t
moving fast enough.

She
sighed. But Drew also noted that she hadn’t removed herself from his lap. That
was good, wasn’t it?

“I
don’t know. Maybe. Maybe not.”

Author Bio

Sherri
spent most of her childhood detesting English class. It was one of her least
favorite subjects because she never seemed to fit into the standard mold. She
wasn't good at spelling, or following grammar rules, and outlines made her head
spin. For that reason, Sherri never imagined becoming an author.

At the age
of thirty, all of that changed. After getting frustrated with the direction a
television show was taking two of its characters, Sherri decided to try her
hand at writing an alternate ending, and give the characters their happily ever
after. By the time the story finished, it was one of the top ten read stories
on the site, and her readers were encouraging her to write more.

Nearly
eight years later, Sherri is the author of eight full-length novels, and two
short stories. Writing has become a creative outlet that allows her to explore
a wide range of emotions, while having fun taking her characters through all
the twists and turns she can create. You can find a current list of all of

Welcome
to Serpent's Kiss (Serpent's Kiss 0.5)

After losing her husband unexpectedly, Katrina Mayer decided
to open Serpent’s Kiss. She wanted it to be a place where she and her fellow
kinksters could play and socialize.

Five years after the doors opened, the club is everything
she’d hoped it would be. On Friday and Saturday nights, Serpent’s Kiss is
filled with men and women who share a similar desire to explore the pleasures
BDSM has to offer. The club has continued to grow, and over the years, many of
its members have become friends.

The one thing Katrina didn’t expect when she’d decided to
open a club was the human drama that came with it. Learning to balance her life
as the club mistress has taken some getting used to, but she wouldn’t change a
thing.

My Review: T
4 Stars
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Like:
I liked the fact that their relationship was a slow buildup. This gave the H/H the time to heal enough to be ready for a new relationship. Though there were setbacks in their relationship, it was just what you would expect due to the heroine's issues.

Dislike:
Though, there wasn't any cheating between the H/H, the heroine's ex was a married man. While this isn't a trigger for me. I'm not a fan of this situation.

Recommendation: I found this to be an emotional, yet fulfilling read. I'm looking forward to more books as some of the secondary characters are interesting.

ARC Review: Her Two Bears by Catherine Vale

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

3 Stars

Like: I'm glad they gave her time and built up their relationships individually.

Dislike: Heroine was too wishy-washy and over-exaggerated. Heroes should have had better control. Ending felt rushed, she did a complete 180.

Recommendation: Feels like the second book in the series, rather than a new series.

ARC Review: Recklessly His (Bad Boy Mafia 1) by Nicole Snow

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Like: Gritty, dirty, hard, suspenseful. I loved it, was glued to my kindle. Couldn't put it down. There was lots of Romeo/Juliet style drama.

Dislike: I wanted her to be pregnant at the end of the story.

Recommendation: I'm looking forward to more.

4 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
Glad they were able to find a middle ground. He was swept off his feet.

What did I not like?
They were quick to bed and the lack of condom was a little off putting.

Recommendation: Quick, fun read.

Spotlight: Smut-Shorties by Mina Carter

Master of the City:

The Midwinter Ball...a time when the lycan packs of the city are required to send an offering to please the Master of the City; a woman. Young, nubile and eager to please the Master in his bed.

Only this year, the struggling Trevais pack are all out of young and nubile, forcing Alpha's sister, Cyan Trevais to attend as the Midwinter Offering. Which is fine. Totally cool. Plump and older than all the other offerings, she's got this. No way will the Master be interested in her. She'll be fine.

Until she slaps and insults another guest, bringing her to the attention of the Master of the City, who is more than a little interested indeed. An all night kind of interested...

Lords of the Hill:

One sexy BBW and two hot alphas = a night of hot passion never to be forgotten.

Nat was warned to stay away from the Manor on the hill. She was warned about the wolves that protected their village...warned that women who caught their eye were known to go missing.

Did she listen? Hell no. Why should she listen to old wives tales when no one had seen the Langdon Wolves, the last of their line, for years? They were probably dead by now, and even if they weren't she wasn't a werewolf. Not really. Her family had been human since her great-great grandmother's time.

But wolves are long-lived, particularly the Stone-Wolf Langdon alphas. When she steps onto Langdon land, she finds out the punishment for trespassing is a hot night of passion with two alpha males.

The Master's Woman:

The Master of the City. The most powerful werewolf in the city. Hot as all the hells. He'd been Cyan's for a night, but her time with him over, Cyan is annoyed to realize Veyr isn't even present to bid her goodbye. Instead he sends his Captain with the Midwinter gown, a sumptuous white dress given to the Midwinter woman to keep. They're considered heirlooms in the making, handed down through generations.

And Cyan doesn't want one. She wants Veyr. But the dress Veyr sends isn't white. It's red.

Far from letting her go, Veyr has called for a Claiming Chase. If he catches her, she's his. But first he has to chase her, capture her...claim her.

In front of the Council.

The Captain of the Guard:

Vanessa McCauley had been groomed to be mated to the Master of the City. She knew that, the whole city knew that, and her brother, the McCauley pack alpha is pissed as all hell that Veyr has chosen someone else.

With strict instructions to find Veyr at that evening's ball, she somehow finds herself in the arms of not the Master, but his Captain of the Guard. Unlike Veyr, Jace Trenton makes her heart pound and her body long for things that are dark and forbidden...

Smut-Shorties: A great on-the-go short to satisfy your craving for smut!

Mated to the Master:

She's his woman, but not his mate. Alpha werewolf and Master of the City has plans for Cyan Trevais. Plans that involve getting her naked and panting beneath him. But, hot as the sex is, he can't ignore the call of his wolf, or his heart. When his woman's brother demands to know his intentions, Veyr knows he must make a choice...

Submitting to the Captain:

Lycan noble-woman Vanessa knows she is playing with fire when she accepts Captain of the City Guard, Jace Trenton's, invitation to an evening at a local club...one with a very interesting reputation. Fed up with being merely a pawn in her brother's plans, she decides to take something for herself and accepts.

The last time they were together was explosive... Who knows what he has planned this time?

The Captain's Challenge:

Her secret is out...and life will never be the same again. Caught out by her ambitious brother, Vanessa finds herself facing her worst nightmare... being mated to a man she doesn't love. Will she find the strength to foil Jacob's plans before anyone gets hurt?

Or will love (and lust) finally win through?

The Master's Baby

She lost everything when the man she loved mated another. Unable to remain in Lycan society, Cyan has left the pack and her home to make her own way in the human world. A world where no one knows who she is, or that the Master of the City, rejected her in favor of another. She's happy...she tells herself that on an hourly basis. So why does her heart long for that she left behind?

The most powerful werewolf in the city...and he's screwed up, big time. When Veyr discovers that Cyan isn't just avoiding him, but has forsaken the Lycan way of life he knows he can't hide behind honor anymore. The truth must out. But when he finds her, he realises there's a lot more to play for than just his heart..

Mistress of the City

A new city, a new choosing...

The Midwinter Ball...a time when the lycan packs of the city are required to send an offering to please the Mistress of the City; a male wolf...young, virile and eager to please the Mistress in her bed.

Archer isn't a wolf, but his younger brother, Seth, is. The only unmated male in their pack, he's about to be served up on a silver platter for the Mistress, and only Archer seems to have an issue with Seth's age. He might be an adult in the wolfy world, but to Archer's mind, he's still too young. Trouble is, if Seth doesn't go, someone else does... Which leaves just one person crazy enough to walk into the Mistress's den and pretend to be a wolf.

Reena is bored stupid. She hates the Midwinter Choosing, hates the fact that all the males are paraded in front of her like damn peacocks, and hates the fact that her normal cover story is happily mated, which means she HAS to pick a partner this year.

Then a handsome alpha asks her for a dance, obviously unaware who she is, and all bets are off...

*Please be aware that this is an Erotica SHORT*

**NB: This is the first story in a new city. You do not need to have read the other Smut-Shorties to enjoy this one.**

Author Bio Mina Carter:

If you'd like to be notified of new releases, special sales, and get FREE ebooks, subscribe here: http://eepurl.com/dCFGs

Mina was born and raised in the East Farthing of Middle Earth (otherwise known as the Midlands, England) and spend her childhood learning all the sorts of things generally required of a professional adventurer. Able to ride, box, shoot, make and read maps, make chainmail and use a broadsword (with varying degrees of efficiency) she was disgusted to find that adventuring is not considered a suitable occupation these days.

So, instead of slaying dragons and hunting vampires and the like, Mina spends her days writing about hot shifters, government conspiracies and vampire lords with more than their fair share of RAWR. Turns out wanna-be adventurers have quite the turn of imagination after all...

(But she keeps that sword sharp, just in case the writing career is just a dream and she really *is* an adventurer.)

The boring part: A full time author and cover artist, Mina can usually be found hunched over a keyboard or graphics tablet, frantically trying to get the images and words in her head out and onto the screen before they drive her mad. She's addicted to coffee and would like to be addicted to chocolate, but unfortunately chocolate dislikes her.

ARC Review: Running with the Moon (Valen's Pack 1) by Bailey Bradford

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
4 Stars

Like: The story was smooth and flowed nicely. I love the fact that the MCs were innocent and curious. With shifters there can be a tendency towards alphas = jackass, not in this story. I love Rivvie's personality.

Dislike: Based on the blurb, I expected their to be more conflict between the main group of shifters and humans rather than a rogue group.

Recommendation: Looking forward to more books in this series, hoping Matthew's is next.

ARC Review: Trust Me (Southern Nights 2) by Ella Sheridan

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 Stars

I like that Maddie was able to be involved in bringing down her abuser and that she was able to get closure. I'm glad they were able to take out the trash.

Recommendation: Possible triggers for those who have suffered abuse. This is a darker read. I'm enjoying this series, looking forward to more.

Like: The heroine, Georgie, is a badass. This seemed like a really important pivot book between the guys of Tear Asunder and Unyielding Riot. Hoping Tristan gets his HEA too.

Recommendation: Good start to a new series. Can't wait for book 2 & 3.

Spotlight: Sweeter than Honey by Mina Carter and J. William Mitchell

Blurb:
The Revenants. One of the best mercenary teams in the business and an asset Tessa Honeywell can't afford to lose. The fact that their leader, Jensen Haye, is possibly the hottest guy this side of the Keltairan expanse is something Tessa tries very hard not to let affect her plans. Very hard. Well, not that hard. But in her defence, the guy is sex on legs. Just one...err, two problems. He's not human and he's pissed at her after her Intel sent a mission bad...So why do his growls turn her on like nothing else?

Jensen Haye thinks Tessa is the hottest thing alive. A femme fatale. She's mysterious, alluring and ...human, so she's way too delicate for a brute like him, and that's before factoring in the beastly side of his nature. But anger loosens the bonds he holds on his inhuman side and when she offers...he takes.

Two operatives, one abandoned warehouse in the backend of beyond... an afternoon neither will ever forget.

Author Bio J. William MItchell
A resident of a tropical paradise in the South Pacific, Will spent his formative years surrounded by sun, sand and the sea. However, as he grew older, the sand and sea got left behind in the coast, leaving him with way too much sun and an extra helping of smog that left him a little crispy.

First hooked on writing since he was nine, his first machine had been an old clunky typewriter, but he quickly graduated to a computer when the metal antique reminded him way too much of his typing instructor…and the sound her wooden ruler made smacking him on the hands.

When he’s not working as a business consultant, Will spends his time arguing politics with his pet rock, but when the inspiration strikes, he leaps to his keyboard with the dexterity of a leopard…or an amped up gerbil, depending if he’s had way too much coffee again. Of course, as a diehard fanatic of the good stuff, he would never say there’s such a thing as “too much coffee.”
