TGIF!

Reaching over with my right, I pluck one of the truffles off the plate. Eating half of it in one bite, I sip from the glass of wine in my left hand. It had been a long week and I needed to unwind. Taking a deep breath, I exhale slowly. TGIF!

Sidney's Triple Shot (Apache Crossing 1) by Lori King

I was given this book in a giveaway.

5 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
The heroine was a strong, yet realistic character. I like that the overprotective heroes were more realistic due to their occasional screw-ups. I love the small town feel to the setting. I'm happy the villain was killed, monsters just need to be put down.

Would I recommend this to a friend?
I'm looking forward to more in this series.

Faery Dust (A Faery Wedding) by Mina Carter

I won this book in a giveaway.

5 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
I liked the concept:Falling in love to the person you were going to marry without knowing it is them. I love the supernatural's bar too - ordering drinks that mean something is a good way to get what you need without have to explain it over and over again.

What did I not like?
Forced marriages make me just want to smack the book characters.

Would I recommend this to a friend?
I liked this book so much I went out and bought the sequel, Faery Wedding.

ARC Review: Surrender Your Independence (The Surrender Series 0) by Trinity Blacio

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4 out of 5 Stars

It feels as if you come in mid-stream, needs more background and world building. However for a short 22 page read, it is a good quick read.

Would I recommend this book to a friend?
As an intro to a new series, it draws you in and makes you want to read more.

Fantasy Snapshot

Blindfolded in a room, laid out on a bench, strapped face-down by silk covered rope. You hear footsteps, feel a breeze tickle across your naked flesh.

"Has she been a good girl?" He asks.

"If she had been would she be tied down, Sir?"

"Very well, you may begin."

You hear the woosh of the lash. Pain. "One. Thank you, Ma'am".

"Only a 5 count, my dear"

Woosh. "Two, Thank you, Ma'am" Your head starts to feel fuzzy, drifting.

Woosh. Slurring "Three, Thank you, Ma'am".

You feel a stroke on your face, "Just two more".

Drifting further, your body and mind feel detached.

Woosh. "Four, Thank you, Ma'am."

"Last One"

"Five, Thank you, Ma'am."

You loll on the bench as your Master and Mistress untie you. Petting your face, she cradles you to her naked chest, while the Master puts cooling cream on you back. wrapping you in a blanket, he rubs your feet, while you are stretched out on them beside the couch.

"Such a good girl" they croon. "Beautiful, baby girl. So proud of you."

You fall asleep to the sound of their heartbeats and soothing caresses.

Tattoos and Cupcakes (Sunset Point) by Hennessee Andrews

I won this book from a blog hop.

5 out of 5 Stars

I like the premise, a whole island of menages. This story mostly focused on the relationship between the H/H. Everything was neatly tied up. While this is part of a series, it works just as well to be read as a standalone.

Grace's Cowboys (James Brothers 2) by Jasmine Alexander

I won this book in a giveaway.

Interesting
5 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
I like that they chose to share rather than make the heroine choose. I liked that they waited to marry until after they figured out how their relationship would work.

What didn't I like?
The resolution to her issue was anti-climactic. I dislike that they pried into her past rather than waiting on her to tell them about it.

Would I recommend this book to a friend?
This was a good read. The heroes really complimented each other and the heroine. I found the way their relationship worked to be interesting.

Responsible Cowboy (James Brothers 1) by Jasmine Alexander

I won this book in a giveaway.

Jerk Hero, Softhearted Heroine
4 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
I love the generous heart of the heroine. I also like the hero's mom's attitude about telling the hero's son about the heroine.

What didn't I like?
I disliked the hero's general attitude. He was mean and cruel to the heroine. There was no need to make her feel unwelcome by his parents. He can speak for himself but to ruin the parents relationship with her was selfish. I really think she shouldn't have forgiven him so fast, especially in light of the fact that he continued to keep information from her by not telling her about his son.

Would I recommend this book to a friend?
This was a great read and I'm looking forward to more about the family.
