Caiden (McLaughlin Family 2) by Krystal Shannan

I won this book in a giveaway.

4 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
I liked that for a short story (novella), it had a full plot.

What did I not like?
I felt their relationship moved fast for someone who was having stalker issues.

Recommendation: I am hoping that Cole eventually gets his HEA.

ARC Review: Teach Me (Southern Nights 1) by Ella Sheridan

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
It was a very compelling book. I got sucked into this book and ignored the world for a while. The heroine was a strong, courageous woman. I was impressed with her ability to survive and move on.

What did I not like?
This book had a lot of hard subjects: stalking/abuse, lack of police competency, and even the idea that people with money and influence can get away with things that they shouldn't. The way the system in the story worked, or rather didn't, was a bit disturbing.

Recommendation: This was such an awesome read. I look forward to more for this series.

Illicit Relations (Boys Will Do Boys) by Lucy Felthouse

I won this book in a blog tour giveaway.

5 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
The problems in this story were easily solved. I like that the parents (and most of the extended family) were really supportive once it had been all out in the open.

What did I not like?
All the angst could have been avoided if the parents had just been honest with him when he was younger.

Recommendation: This was a cute, enjoyable read. If the possibility of relationships between those who are related (not genetically) bother you, this is not the read for you.

Point of Seduction (Sunset Point) by Lori King

I won this book in a giveaway.

5 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
I love the concept of the series. I thought the reunion was a cute scene. I and glad that their relationships were built between each of them as a couple, in addition to their menage. The cupcake shop scene was super funny. I love the commentary on training the men. "...they have had years of training. You think they come like that?" I loved the guys reaction to Quinn's call about being in labor!

Recommendation: If you are interesting in some quirky characters with a lot of love, this is a fun, must read.

ARC: Love Scars: Bad Boy's Bride by Nicole Snow

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

4 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
While the story line is about harsh characters, the hero is actually a sweetheart, under all the gruff and toughness. He is a good example for actions speak louder than words. While his language was harsh and seemed to be mean towards the heroine, the truth is life is hard and he protected her rather than abused her.

What did I not like?
I hate that she had to choose, her father is a bottom feeder for the way he manipulated her and the way he forced the h/h hands.

Recommendation: While the language was gritty and the setting intense, overall it was a very good read.

Home (Spotless 3) by Bailey Bradford

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
This was an emotionally charged story. There was a lot of back and forth, It was nice that they were reconnecting with their past, both family and pack. I love the way Cliff and Rhea take to each other and I'm looking forward to Rolly and (I believe) Edwin's story. While a lot of the story was about Solomon and his family, I'm also glad that Azil was also able to lay his past to rest.

What did I not like?
This was a hard subject. Both mates were abused in their own way and came with their own set of issues. Also it saddens me that both sides of his family ended up being evil.

Recommendation: While I had not read the previous books in this series, it wasn't an issue. This was a great read and I'm looking forward to where the series goes from here.

His One and Only (Lycan Princes 2) by Jorja Kish

I won this book in a giveaway.

4 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
There was good setup for later books. It was nice to see Squeak again, he's too funny. Theone seemed to be very physically fragile, but his powers make up for it.

What did I not like?
There were a few unanswered questions: Was Ty & Ky ok?

Recommendation: I am really interested in seeing where this series goes. The series just gets better and better.

5 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
I love that he kept his name, Squeak. I love his reaction to finding out his heritage, and even better his reaction to his legacy. Thanks, Kellen! The relationship between the main couple is just adorable.

Recommendation: I loved this book. I am looking forward to more in the series.

ARC Review: Redeeming Rue (Ashland Prides 4) by RE Butler

I won a copy of this book in a giveaway.

4 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
I'm glad that after it was all over, that she regained some of her family. I am hopeful that their punishment (ghosted) brings them as much pain as her unfair banishment did to her. I'm also glad that Dom and Henry have their connection, Henry was feeling a little left out.
While I don't envy them the wait, I think that Jilly especially could use that time. She just started finding herself, I think she needs more "me time" before becoming part of a triad.

What did I not like?
I was not happy that the bad guy didn't die screaming for his actions (yes, I was a little bloodthirsty after reading this). I also thought it would be more fitting to use the weapon they were wielding against them.

Recommendation: I can't wait for the next book, I'm hoping its a HEA for Ray, Scarlett and Wes.

ARC: The Zrakon’s Curse (Shifters of Scotland 2) by Linda Barlow

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
I loved their mental connection. What I wouldn't give to be able to communicate like that. They were a well matched couple, both their love of traveling and their open mindedness to new worlds. It's great that they are starting to figure out the curse, even if they don't know what to do with the new information.

What did I not like?
Cameron (the brother) is going to be a problem. I feel bad that he is different from his brothers but he's an ass about it.

Recommendation: I love the way the story line is moving along and I can't wait until Cameron gets his story so I can watch his heroine kick his backside.

ARC Review: Furlough Love (For Old Times Sake 1) by Trinity Blacio

I won a copy of this book in a contest.

5 out of 5 Stars

What did I like?
Although it was a short story, it had a full plot. I love the strength of the heroine, whether it was against a group of thugs, a demanding mother in law or the hero. I love the blend of shifter and military genres.

Recommendation: The concept of the book was adorable. I am looking forward to the next books in this series.

Spotlight: Mina Carter's Paranormal Protection Agency

Spotlight today on Mina Carter and her Paranormal Protection Agency

This book contains the following novellas: "Hard as a Rock", "Between a Rock and a Hard Place", "Protect and Service", "Seduced by Santa", and "Close Protection". If you already own these books, please do not purchase this title. The first five books in the PPA series now bundled together for one great price!

'Hard as a Rock'
Iliona's had a rough day, so the last thing she wants is a whiny ex on her doorstep throwing accusations about which of her co-workers she's sleeping with. When he starts throwing punches and one of her hunky gargoyle co-workers rushes to her rescue, Iliona is more interested in what exactly he's been doing on the ledge outside her bedroom window...
And whether he's interested in more than watching.

'Between a Rock and a Hard Place'
There's nothing like a bit of Gargoyle lovin'... Unless it's double the lovin'
Iliona is used to dealing with all kinds of paranormals thanks to her job with the Paranormal Protection Agency. Even so, an office break in by a banshee nearly has her heading for the pearly gates, and she needs a little 'me time' with her live-in, live on the building lover, a gargoyle named Cal.
But Cal's got some plans of his own. Plans that involve Iliona, a candle-lit room and some up close and personal time with himself and his 'twin' Granite.
Two sets of hands, two ridged tongues, two hot bodies...Being caught between a rock and a hard place has never been so hot.

'Protect and Service'
One curse. One Wolf. One Night.
Eloise is a woman on a mission. She needs to find a date for the annual hospital ball, and fast. The trouble is she's not only man-free but after her bastard of an ex had a nasty little curse hurled her way, no human guy will touch her with a barge-pole. Not after one date ended up with green acne, another with a nose like Pinocchio...the list went on.
Out of options, Eloise ends up at the offices of the Paranormal Protection Agency. She's not sure what to expect but she certainly doesn't expect Jared Stone. No-one expects Stone...

'Seduced by Santa'
A woman determined to spread the Christmas spirit...
Former socialite turned community centre worker Candice Kane loves Christmas. In the run down area she works in, economics and rising unemployment mean that there isn't a lot of Christmas spirit to go around. Determined to do something about it, for the last couple of years she's arranged a Christmas Party, complete with a visit from Santa for the neighbourhood kids. This year though, a break in and damage from vandals means the party could be cancelled...
A Santa who hates Christmas...
Rhod is...was a Santa. For years he joined the other men in his family delivering presents, until the attitude and ungratefulness of the rich children he delivered to made him hang up his red suit. Working for the Paranormal Protection Agency, he's convinced himself that he's happier without being the big guy anymore.
When he and his partner rescue Candy from an attack in a deserted alley, all Rhod's decisions are put to the test. Can he hold out against a woman with Christmas spirit in her heart, or will he lose his own in the process?

'Close Protection'
Ashlee Bishop is a bar owner. She was a happy bar owner until a bunch of pixies turned up demanding protection money. As a garden-variety human, she knows she doesn't have the ability to deal with the pixies, so she calls in the Paranormal Protection Agency to sort the problem out.
What she doesn't expect is for the pixies to come back before the agency can get to the bar, or the hot as hell werewolf who shows and starts teaching pixies how to fly. The hard way.
She certainly doesn't expect to be able to command his wolf... or to have to when the shit hits the fan.

Two Dragons for the Price of one!
Dragon's Honor - It was supposed to be a simple job. Bodyguard duty for a wealthy businessman’s daughter. But the Paranormal Protection Agency don’t do simple so shadow-dragons Baron and his brother Duke find themselves going undercover as human of all things. Their mission: to protect Miss Croft and dig up some dirt on her father to tie him to the illegal trade in paranormal slaves rife in the city.
Dissent and rumours amongst the staff at the Croft house make them wary, but neither expect redcaps and trolls to attack in the middle of the night, or for the most startling revelation of all: Honor Croft is Baron’s mate.
When a crazed warlock steals her away, will Baron be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to save her?

Dragon's Chase - He’s found his mate. But can he convince her that he’s her dragon?
Working for the Paranormal Protection Agency has never been boring, but shadow-dragon Duke didn’t expect to meet his mate in the line of duty. He certainly didn’t expect a warrior every inch his match, or for her to slap him across the ass with her tail and take off across the city.
With Baron on a very personal protection detail, Duke has to fly solo on the pair’s investigation into the warlock who nearly killed Baron’s mate. Just one problem, his mate is working with the warlock. So, dead or alive, he has to bring her in…
She found the one thing she didn’t want. Her mate. Now she needs to get rid of him before he ruins her mission…
Sleeping for centuries has it’s drawbacks, Chase knew that going in. What she didn’t expect was to wake with a Warlock’s spelled collar around her neck and to find her charge, the Queen’s daughter, in a cage. Vowing to free them both will take skill and strength and she doesn’t need the distraction of a hot as hell male dragon trying to make his claim on her. Even though her heart aches to complete their joining, she can’t. Not yet.
The mission, or her heart. Can she have both? Or will she need one to complete the other?
Two HOT dragons for just 99c

Author Bio
Mina was born and raised in the East Farthing of Middle Earth (otherwise known as the Midlands, England) and spend her childhood learning all the sorts of things generally required of a professional adventurer. Able to ride, box, shoot, make and read maps, make chainmail and use a broadsword (with varying degrees of efficiency) she was disgusted to find that adventuring is not considered a suitable occupation these days.

So, instead of slaying dragons and hunting vampires and the like, Mina spends her days writing about hot shifters, government conspiracies and vampire lords with more than their fair share of RAWR. Turns out wanna-be adventurers have quite the turn of imagination after all...

(But she keeps that sword sharp, just in case the writing career is just a dream and she really *is* an adventurer.)

The boring part: A full time author and cover artist, Mina can usually be found hunched over a keyboard or graphics tablet, frantically trying to get the images and words in her head out and onto the screen before they drive her mad. She's addicted to coffee and would like to be addicted to chocolate, but unfortunately chocolate dislikes her.
